of Jos Library
University of Jos permanent site Library was
destroyed in a fire incident which occurred on
Saturday night. It is not clear what caused fire.
Following the incident, the university authorities
has postponed ongoing first semester
examinations. The faculties of Social Sciences
and Management Sciences, located at the library
were also razed down.
Registrar, Mr Monday Danjem, that the decision
was taken pending an emergency Senate meeting
scheduled for Monday, Oct. 10. He urged
students and members of the university community
to remain calm and go about their normal
businesses as the situation has been brought
under control.

damage disclosed that the fire destroyed
examination scripts, books and crucial
materials. "On the fourth floor, which was
completely razed down, we have the
departments of Psychology, Political
Science, Economics and Office of Dean
of Management sciences"

Samuel Musa, said that it took six hours to
put out the fire.
